In this article, I am going to talk about the fundamentals of digital marketing and what I have gained from it. Now I am going to share with you all. Being in the field of marketing needs/demands a lot of constants knowledge and creativity.

In this article, I will be exhibiting a few terms to follow up on your everyday run. This article will help you, not only with all the hypothetical situations but also with real-life examples and how you can use them in your journey. I indited this article for all the marketing lovers and who wish to follow the path of marketing later on.

Being a marketing student and having a strong marketing base always comes in handy, this article will illustrate the fundamental yet featured discussion.

Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. According to the American Marketing Association (AMA) Approved in 2017.

Presently I will share with you all that I have gained from the Law of Marketing in week-2 which is a part of the Digital Deepak Internship program. let's begin-

Fundamental of Marketing

According to my knowledge marketing is something which we do for people by providing products and services. We have to not only look from our perspective but also the customer's point of view and provide them what’s their wants and needs are, and that is the manner by which we satisfy clients and convert guests into clients. As Henry Ford said and I quote “ If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person's point of view and see things from that person’s angle as well as from your own”

I hope that you are now aware of the basic meaning of marketing, Now let's jump on the next intriguing topic that is.

1. Digital Marketing vs Traditional Marketing

You may be wondering which one is better, which one to go for, what precisely is the difference between these both well don't freeze I am going to share and explain these both terms for your better understanding.

Okay,

Did you know that till 1990 traditional marketing was massively used to aware people of the new products up until the internet came into existence. Startling right?

Traditional marketing includes print ads, hoardings, magazines, billboards, newsletters, promotional brochures, flyers, radio ads, television ads, etc. Many new products show their advertisements in the above medium and spread awareness, consideration, but no action. It is largely different from digital marketing because -

TV ads can reach millions of people at a low cost. But the cost of paper and printing is relatively high while distributing.

There is no direct connection with the audience. (Downside)

Traditional marketing is hard to measure and it does not give the statistics on the ads were impactful or not.

I will give you an example suppose you as a marketer is planning to publish an ad regarding your new product and you choose a newspaper or magazine as a medium, your ad is published it reached to the people who read the paper but can you analysis whether they ceased at a point to read your ad, no right? so that's where the difference comes.

Now, let's look into Digital Marketing let me give you a simple definition — When you do marketing or selling via the internet and using digital services is called Digital Marketing. It includes social media, SEO, blogging, content marketing, lead management, paid search advertisements. In this type of advertisement, the customer is not only aware of the product but also provides consideration and takes action. The highlight of digital marketing is

According to the statistics, 80% of the people use the internet to search for a product which they eventually end up buying. Which helps in engagement, measurable, and targeted audience.

Sometimes, it gets annoying as well because it acts as digital surveillance because of machine learning like the product you looked at or searched last night will again appear on your Facebook channel or feeds on other day and you can sort of getting irritated by that and can’t help thinking about for what reason is these advertisements appearing here.

Be that as it may, aside from all these I personally like to advertise my product Digitally because it’s the future and everything are converting digital like in this pandemic of Covid-19 people started to use digital services and platform in all kind of industry and how it's shaping the world altogether the massive use of the internet is a good chance to advertise your product. Isn't it?

2. CATT Marketing Funnel

Before jumping directly into the core of the CATT marketing funnel let me give you an insight into what exactly it is and why it is used. This is a new funnel in digital marketing and you can use this funnel for your personal branding. Okay now, let me show you what exactly CATT stands for.

I hope now you got clarity as to what CATT stands for and if you don't, let me elaborate.

Suppose you own a small restaurant and you write a blog, shoot a video or any content to sell it to people about your restaurant, and you publish that content on your social media page or YouTube channel, so in a way you are awarding people and spreading the news about your restaurant.

So that is your content.

likewise, the same thing is explained in digital marketing you put content to offer your customer with the solution to their problem that they are stuck with or wanting something new.

Remember CATT is the customer journey.

Next, Attention

It helps you drive traffic to your content using SEO, Social Media, paid ads, etc. It helps your restaurant to reach more and more people, if people liked your video or your blog they will react in form of giving likes, commenting, and even share them, this creates attention

Now, Trust

when you start something new you are frightened at first so you show what you have learned to people whom you trust. The same in digital marketing you have to create that trust among your customer so that they feel they are the main part of your work, and they can trust you. That how they will come to your restaurant and give it a shot.

Last but not least, Transaction

It is the last point in CATT after completing the above steps this is the point where you convert your visitor into a customer. The transaction can happen in the natural sales method and in this example, the customer will pay you because of the food you served them, they will repay you in terms of money.

3. Integrated Digital Marketing

Integrated Digital Marketing is the method that every business is opting for, it resembles all the marketing campaigns which create a more influencing online presence.

Have you ever come across the same product you were searching on Myntra or Amazone on Facebook ads or YouTube ads? No, yeah?

Okay let me show you how integrated digital marketing do all of that, First, it makes sure that all messaging and communications strategies are consistent across all channels and are centered on the customer.

So, the product you were searching on Myntra or Amazone or any other websites, they use retargeting to call you again to check the very same product with an offer or in stock available. It helps the digital marketer to tell his/her audience about the product or any other news in all the available channels.

4. Personal Branding

Personal branding is related to an individual whose individual personality reflects more than a brand.

It is similar to brand recognition, Suppose when I say I am hungry and need food right now which products come to your mind? No clue?

Ok if I say “2-minute noodles” Maggi!! Similarly, it is the same with personal branding but there's no product it's the person/individual. Personal Branding reflects the skill and communication you have. It basically means what people will say behind your back when you leave the room.

For example, Virat Kholi resembles his personality and his products very well. His product is “Wrogn” with the tag line ‘Breakaway Youth Fashion', how did he achieve this?

Being the Indian Cricket Team Captain and having an astounding personality, always differ him from others. When we speak or talk about Virat Kholi we also talk about his work. He has a bigger following than Wrogn. His personality speaks for his product. Moreover, he is also the brand ambassador and influencer for his products.

So personal branding is nothing but YOU.
